28th May 2011 (Saturday) Day 1 9:00am Introduction and Registration 9:10am Introduction to the UMAT, statistics, what you need to get for each university. 9:30am How to apply to different medical schools and the paperwork involved. 10:00am Part 1 (Logical reasoning): Introduction, strategies, what you need to know. 11:30am Part 1 practise questions, mock exam. 12:30pm LUNCH (We will show you around the common lunch venues around the University, including the Pizza Cafe, and the hidden Asian takeout places around uni) 1:30pm Part 2 (Understanding people): Introduction, strategies, how you should go about thinking and answering the questions. 3:00pm Part 2 practise questions, mock exam 4:00pm End for the day 29th May 2011 (Sunday) Day 2 9:00am Part 3: Introduction, strategies, how you should go about thinking and answering the questions. 10:30am Part 3 practise questions, mock exam. 11:30am What to expect in university life, especially as a medical student. 12:00pm LUNCH - We'll show you around Hawken Village, a popular spot to get lunch, just 10 minutes by foot from the St. Lucia campus. 1:00pm The Interview: How to go about preparing for it, what you should be thinking about. Sample interview questions. This is especially essential if you are thinking of applying to different interstate medical schools. 2:00pm Mock interview session. 2:30pm Mock exam session 4:00pm Last conclusions, how to prepare for the UMAT in the next two months. 4:30pm Question and answer session. 5:00pm End of the day. You will be provided with practice exam papers to take home. We will also be available over e-mail or the phone if you have any more UMAT related questions, right up until the actual UMAT exam itself. You will also be provided with information booklets containing all the essential points to remember summarised. We will mark your mock exam paper, and will supply you with your estimated UMAT score, together with an analysis of the medical schools you would be eligible for.
